Laboratory for Learned Neural Dynamics and Cortical Prediction

Trying to understand what the brain is doing up there

Lab Goals

The brain is constantly learning. It does this by changing the synaptic connections between neurons based on the activity patterns of the neurons themselves, and the implication is that the neural representation of "information" (an idea, a memory, how your brain responds when you point your eyes at a tree, etc.) is subtly different everytime you think about it. The Gavornik Lab is trying to understand the principles that govern how activity leads to synaptic changes.
